To be clear, I don’t think they have evil intent (though, yes, AI safeguards are critical). But the speed at which AI is evolving—from years to months, to weeks, to literal days—is staggering.

And right now, I see three camps in the professional world:

  1. Those who embrace AI.

  2. Those who fear AI.

  3. Those who pretend AI isn’t happening.

So, here’s me planting my flag: Get into the first camp.

AI Isn’t a Replacement—It’s an Augmentation

The biggest mindset shift? Stop thinking of AI as a replacement. Instead, see it as a tool that enhances what we do. The best AI adopters aren’t losing their creative edge; they’re amplifying it.

And yes, I’ll own my hypocrisy. I’ve spoken at conferences about the soul of creativity—and I still believe human ingenuity is at the core of great content. But denying AI’s usefulness for knowledge workers (or ignoring the reality that some roles will shift while new opportunities emerge) seems deeply misguided.

The AI Leap: “Humanity’s Last Exam”

Take the evocatively named “Humanity’s Last Exam.” A test designed by nearly 1,000 subject-matter experts from over 500 institutions across 50 countries. The purpose of the test – to create the most challenging questions possible to evaluate AI systems at the frontier of human knowledge.

This January, AI GPT-4o and Grok-2 achieved accuracies of 3.3% and 3.8%.

On February 12th, GPT’s Deep Reason model scored 26.6%

The progress is happening at a pace that isn’t just impressive—it’s unprecedented. AI isn’t a fad, and it’s not just a tool for engineers. It’s reshaping every industry.

My AI Deep Dive

Since late September, I’ve happily gone down the rabbit hole —taking courses, listening to AI-focused podcasts, watching deep-dive videos, and, most importantly, playing with the tech.

And honestly? It’s fun.

For the 10-year-old me who spent three summers at Computer Camp, it’s pure joy—tapping back into the experimentation flow-state, light coding, and seeing wild results.
